Walpurgisnacht was developed as a part of the CoHo residency program in 2025. Combining Piper’s love of clown, horror, and russian literature, Walpurgisnacht puts a twist on Bulgakov’s soviet novel Master and Margarita. This surreal retelling blends supernatural elements with satire, flamboyantly dark comedy, and religious philosophy, defying genre. When the Devil arrives in Portland he forces fates to collide. Watch as an idealistic poet meets his idol, the biblically accurate homoerotic fanfic writer, the writer meets his love, and they all ultimately meet God.
